First Communion - Message Cross

The message on this cross comes from the John 6. John 6: 1-15 tells the story of the loves and the fishes. Later in the chapter, Jesus tells them that what he brings is more than perishable bread, but he also brings the bead of eternal life.

The message on the cross reads

First Holy Communion  "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty." - John 6:35

Many of Jesus followers could not accept his teaching, and left. Peter spoke for all who stayed acknowledging that Jesus had the words of eternal life.

This cross reminds us that when we receive Holy Communion we receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.
