A source of comfort and spiritual support, the Guardian Angel is regarded as a special gift from above, to help humans through the uncertainties of life on earth. The delicate gracefulness of this heavenly creature is apparent in every detail of the stained glass, designed especially for Glassmasters by the artist Philip Hackbarth.

The peaceful blue background of the design is offset by the white purity of the angel herself. Though the angel's humble head is bowed, her tremendous power is reflected in the magnificence of her wings. Her halo is illuminated by the goodness she represents.

The Guardian Angel beams with the ethereal beauty of the heavens and will bring peace and harmony to all who reflect upon her.

The application of the color is a slow process. Starting with European-made cathedral glass, the colors are individually applied and then dried at temperatures reaching 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Each enamel is cooled and inspected - one color at a time - before the next enamel is applied. Determined by the complexity of the design, this process may be repeated as many as twenty-one times before the design enters the kiln to be fired.

When fired, each design reaches temperatures of nearly 1,100 degrees Fahrenheit, and the enamels become permanently fused into the glass. As inherent in stained glass found in museums and private collections throughout the world, each stained glass color will be as transparent and vibrant a century from now as they appear today.
