Several thousand years ago, winter approached bringing a flurry of activity among the angelic chorus in heaven. Preparations for the winter concert were in progress, taking the efforts of thousands. Special robes sprinkled with stardust were fashioned of white. Wings were kept polished to glisten even in the dark, blue sky. One young angel watched the excitement from afar with longing in her heart. She wanted to join the chorus, for her heart was filled with love for God and she knew that singing brought Him joy. But try as she might, the little angel couldn't carry a tune, no matter how hard she practiced. Yet, this night, her song would be the one chosen for the Lord.

The Italian tradition of recreating the Nativity scene began centuries ago. Four generations of the Fontanini family have brought this time-honored Italian tradition into homes all over the world. These marvelous Nativity figures are still crafted in Bagni di Lucca, a charming Italian village nestled in the hills of Tuscany. Created in virtually unbreakable polymer, the figures are hand-painted and given a rich patina finish by skilled artisans.
